Camille & the Beach: Burot Beach

I first fell in love with beaches long before I fell in love with mountains. I enjoy the sand, the heat and of course the salty vibe of beaches. Last June 2015, me and my highschool barkada, got a rare chance to visit the beach. YES! A rare chance! Since we are all in college, it is very hard to schedule a trip where in we are all free. Although, during this trip we're barely complete, we still pushed through since we really want to bond and needed a quick getaway from our busy university life.

We looked through the trusty internet to find nearby beaches, and we found this hidden gem - Burot Beach. It is located in Calatagan, Batangas, which is I think the farthest part of the province. We took a public bus to Calatagan Market (Fare: around Php 140), we traveled for almost 4 hours! From the market we hired 2 tricycles (Php 50/pax or Php 200/tricycle) going to the beach, but before heading there, we stopped at the public market to buy our overnight supplies including water, food, and of course a few drinks! :) After that, we asked our driver if he knows where we could rent a cheaper tent, since we only have 1, and he brought us to his friend where we rented our tent (5 pax.) for Php 500. Afterwards, we made our way to the beach which took us about 15-20 minutes. There's an entrance fee of Php 130/overnight. (TIP/S: If going to Burot, make sure to buy your supplies in the Market because there's only 1 mini store in the whole beach and bring your own tent to save money!)

When we got there, we were greeted by a long stretch of beautiful white sand and clear water. It's really beautiful guys! We set our tents under a tree for a little protection from the sun. We then checked the bathrooms, and its okay. We did not expect a clean and beautiful comfort rooms since we know that its a remote beach meaning there's no accomodation and electricity. Speaking of electricity, don't forget to bring power banks for your gadgets!

After setting our tent, we changed into our swimwear and rested a liitle bit before hiring a boat to take us around. Boat rental fee is aroung Php 1,500. We went to starfish island, went snorkelling and the boat man took us to a supposedly sand bar in the middle of the sea but unfortunately we came during high tide so we can't see the sand bar but we still went there.

This is us floating over the supposedly sand bar in the middle of the sea :))

After the mini-tour, we went back to our tent and we explored other parts of the beach. We found a spot where we are the only ones there, we stayed for a while to chat and take some pictures. When sunset came, we went to the other side of the beach where we can watch it and again took some (a lot of) pictures.

I can't get over how beautiful this beach is!!!!

Of course, we did not forgot to take our mandatory "barkada" picssssssssss (because there's a lot)

This is the spot where we watched to sunset together :)

Also, we must not forget to take pictures to post on our instagram! This picture made it to my IG feed! YAY

Night came, and we set a bonfire near our tent (You can buy the woods for the bonfire in the sari-sari store for Php 60!) then we ate our dinner and had some drinks :) The morning after, we left for Manila earlier than scheduled because its really hot and there was an emergency. But all in all, we really had such a great time in this beach. I can't wait to come back. I reccomend this place to all young friends who are planning a quick trip!

That is all! TTYL!

With love,

Camille
